Concrete studies
Our petrographers examine all of your aggregate materials when you need information about the composition,quality, or condition of the materials and the factors that may have affected them.
Our petrographers are geologists by education, they have the basic knowledge required for their work in light microscopy, mineralogy and geochemistry. Our researchers in Finland have been trained in the specifics of concrete and mortars with courses in concrete petrography and mortar microscopy at the Danish Institute of Technology (DTI). Our thin section technicians are also experienced professionals, which guarantees carefully prepared samples and a reliable research result. From our concrete laboratory, you will also receive assays for tensile strength, compressive strength, and acid-soluble chloride content that support and supplement petrographic research. Petrographic examination of hardened concrete and determination of air pore parameters of thin-layer concrete are accredited methods.
