Mitta Represented at ICOLD 2026 in Mexico

Mitta will participate in ICOLD 2026 (International Commission on Large Dams), taking place on 23–29 May 2026 in Guadalajara, Mexico. The event brings together leading experts in dam safety and water infrastructure from around the world.

Mitta will be represented by Tatu Nylund, Service Manager for Environmental Services, who will present a poster on risk assessment in dam breach scenarios using hydraulic modelling. The presentation is strongly based on Mitta’s core areas of expertise, including:

  • 2D flow modelling
  • watercourse and terrain measurements
  • geotechnical consulting
  • the Finnish regulatory framework for dam safety
  • GIS expertise

Participation takes place at the invitation of FINCOLD Suurpadot, the Finnish national member association of ICOLD. FINCOLD’s mission is to maintain and share knowledge and expertise related to dam safety. Its members include several key actors in the Finnish hydropower sector,
